Before you go: Greece

No visa needed

Entry rules for U.S. passport holders.

Passport
Valid for at least 3 months after you leave the Schengen area, and issued within the last 10 years
Stay without a visa
Up to 90 days (90 days in any 180 across the whole Schengen area, not per country)
  • At the border your face and fingerprints are registered in the EU's new Entry/Exit System (EES), which can mean longer lines.
  • The EU plans to require an online ETIAS travel authorization for Americans from late 2026. Check before you go.

From the U.S. State Department, checked October 2026. Rules change, sometimes quickly: confirm them on travel.state.gov (opens a new tab), which also shows the current safety advisory, before you book. Only use official government sites to apply for visas and travel authorizations; look-alike sites charge extra.
